We’re thrilled to share that this year’s Garage Sale Community Fundraiser has already raised $3,400 – and counting! This event is always a favourite in our calendar, and it’s easy to see why. It brings together generosity, good vibes, and a love for secondhand treasures – all while raising funds for a good cause.

New this year was our cake stall, and what a sweet addition it was! Volunteers baked up a storm – from banana cakes to passionfruit slices – and helped create a welcoming, joyful atmosphere.

We were lucky to have 11 amazing volunteers this year, and their support made all the difference. A big event like this takes some serious effort: sorting and pricing items beforehand, setting up displays, and keeping everything running smoothly on the day. We’re incredibly grateful for their time, care and energy.

A special thank you goes to the Falknau family, who took the lead on organising everything. From logistics to layout, their hard work helped make the day such a success.

And of course – thank you to everyone who donated! From coffee machines to bikes, clothes, toys and more, everything was in fantastic condition. Shoppers were generous, and the buzz of people finding new-to-them treasures was truly heartening.

Also new this year is our e-bike raffle, which will continue running until September – stay tuned for your chance to win a fantastic prize and support our work!

What we love most about this event is the way it brings our community together around a simple but powerful idea: there’s enough to go around. Recycling and reusing is not only fun and practical, it’s also a great way to keep things out of landfill and protect our environment.
