Garage Sale

Save the Date: Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May will be our third annual community garage sale
Donations are now welcome!
Please drop your donations to the NQCC Office, 114 Boundary Street, Railway Estate.
During Business Hours, donations are welcome on our verandah.
After Hours or if the office is unattended, please leave donations under the building and we will check for them and move them upstairs at the next available opportunity.
We will accept all donations that are:
- clean
- resalable or reusable in some capacity
If you have questions regarding if your donation is suitable, or if you have a larger than will fit on the verandah item, please contact Monita at [email protected] or message us via the event page on Facebook for further advice and solutions.
This garage sale is entirely managed by volunteers, please be patient with us and our response times.
We thank you for your donation, and in return we offer to ethically rehome your items, even if they don't sell during the garage sale weekend. Our small team of volunteers spend hours after the event sorting, organising, pricing, listing on free to advertise sites and potentially donating to researched causes to avoid your items ending in landfill.

Can you help us fundraise by recycling?
There are two easy ways for you to donate your 10c refund from eligible bottles and cans to NQCC:
- Drop them off at our office, at 114 Boundary St, Railway Estate in the marked container bins (please ensure lids are removed and check here to ensure your containers are eligible for a refund)
- Take them to your closest refund point and quote our ID number: C100 283 66 (This sends your refund directly to our account!)
Background
In November 2018, after some delay (and 41 years after South Australia), Queensland introduced a Container Deposit Scheme, aimed at reducing litter and improving recycling rates.
For NQCC, this introduced itself as an opportunity to help raise community awareness around the benefits of recycling and the dangers of littering (particularly in waterways) while supplementing our fundraising activities.
In the first twelve months of the scheme's operation, NQCC raised over $1,400, thanks to the generosity of our supporters! This continues to be an ongoing fundraiser and we appreciate all of the support we receive.
