Our Townsville

Posted on Check Out Our Events by Luna Prince · May 27, 2025 12:39 PM · 1 reaction

Join NQCC at Our Townsville on Sunday, June 15 for a fun-filled day celebrating our beautiful natural environment!

We’ve got something for everyone – from face painting and a nature scavenger hunt for the kids, to engaging conversations about building a greener future for Townsville. Learn how you can get involved in local conservation efforts and even find out how to win an electric bike!

Feeling inspired to reconnect with nature and your community? We’d love your help on the day! Whether it's chatting with young scavenger hunters, setting up our stall, or sharing NQCC’s vision for a more sustainable North Queensland – every bit helps.

To volunteer, get in touch with our Community Campaigner, Luna.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Back by Popular Demand – NQCC’s Community Garage Sale!
Saturday 21 June from 7am

Last year’s Garage Sale was such a hit, we knew we had to do it again! So many people asked us to bring it back - and we listened.

It’s a fun and eco-friendly way to recycle, find hidden treasures, connect with the community, and best of all - raise funds for NQCC!
Expect bargains, a delicious bake sale, and a raffle you won’t want to miss.

Have unwanted goods to donate?
We welcome donations! Please drop off items by Thursday 19 June so we can sort and price them.

  • If the office is open and your items are manageable, leave them on the veranda
  • If the office is closed or your items are bulky, place them under the house.
  • Check the criteria for accepted items below.

Want to get involved?
This is a great one-off volunteer opportunity - perfect for busy bees!
Sign up to volunteer and we’ll be in touch.

Are you a talented baker?
We’d love your help feeding the hungry bargain hunters! Let us know if you can donate cakes, slices, or other baked goods.

It would help us if you could please provide donations:
• in a relatively clean condition, freshly wiped over/rinsed out etc;
• parts of a set all bundled together;
• if an item is broken but has value, please include a note stating what is broken for us to attach to the item;
• if a kit has something missing, please include a note stating what is missing and if it is critical to use of the item;
• including batteries if battery operated (we only have a small supply at the office to demonstrate to customers on the sale day);
• clothes in a laundered condition and bundled by size;
• shoes in a clean and tidy condition and bundled by size;
• please include a light bulb in any lamps etc to be plugged in and demonstrated as working on the day

The type of items we would like to see donated are:
• Furniture, any size & type
• Linen; Curtains & other soft furnishings
• Household items, giftware & décor
• Office items, School supplies & Stationary
• Toys & Games, all ages
• Arts & Crafts, all ages
• Tools, Gadgets & Electronics
• Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
• Hobbies, Music, Books, Posters
• Sporting & Mobility Equipment
• Kids & Babies items (car seats must be in date)
• Pet items, Plants (labelled please)
• Excess fresh seasonal produce

If you are unsure if the item you wish to donate can be accepted by us, please reach out to Luna by email or phone (details below) with your concern and we’ll get back to you.

If you need someone to collect your items because you don’t have transport or the item is too large for your transport, please have them ready and contact Luna at least one week before the event and we will try to arrange a volunteer to collect them.
