The North Queensland Conservation Council is hosting a FREE movie screening of 'Bag It' as part of our Plastic Free July campaign.
Plastic Free July aims to raise awareness of the problems and amount of single-use disposable plastic in our lives and challenges people to do something about it. You can read more about the plastic-free movement here.
The 'big four' disposable single-use plastic items are straws, water bottles, takeaway coffee cups and, you guessed it, PLASTIC BAGS.
NQCC is bringing attention to the issue of plastic bags. Also as part of our Plastic Free July involvement, we'll be launching a Townsville Boomerang Bags group. Boomerang Bags are made my local volunteers from donated and recycled fabrics, stamped with a 'borrow and bring back' logo, and are available for use from local businesses that partner with us to reduce our reliance on plastic bags.
