Celebrate National Volunteer Week with Us!

National Volunteer Week is coming up (May 19 - May 25), and we want to celebrate you - our passionate nature heroes who have dedicated your time and energy to protecting North Queensland’s environment and supporting NQCC.

What better way to honor your contributions than by coming together to connect, reflect, and learn more about our local environment?

Whether you’re a long-time volunteer or simply curious to connect with us and learn more, this event is for everyone. We’d love to see you there!

🌿 Join us for a guided nature tour along the Loam Island Booroona Trail beside the beautiful Ross River. Discover the natural values of the area, explore the threats facing our environment, and discuss what we can do together to better protect it.

🫖 Morning tea will be provided.

👟 What to bring:

• Closed-in footwear
• A hat
• Water bottle

We'll meet at the barbecue area

How to get there: Follow Riverway Drive until you reach the ‘Loam Island’ sign on the left, turn down the access road and head toward the BBQ area.
