Made with Love: A Fitting Start to Green Drinks 2025!

What a fantastic way to kick off the year! Last night at Grill’d, our first Green Drinks of 2025 brought together a passionate group of changemakers for inspiring conversations and new connections.

We had the great pleasure of hosting Chloe Watfern, who—together with her partner Karl and their family—introduced us to Parents for Climate Townsville and Psychology for a Safe Climate.

Chloe and Karl founded the local Parents for Climate Action group last year, and they are already making an impact! They will be meeting with local leaders to advocate for affordable and clean energy, tackling both the cost of living crisis and working towards a greener future for the next generations.

Among the Green Drinks participants were a few proud new owners of their campaign sign, showing their support. If you’d like to display your own sign, you can pick one up at the NQCC office. If you're keen to get involved with this amazing group, you can connect with them here.

Chloe also spoke about her involvement with Psychology for a Safe Climate, highlighting how engaging with the climate emergency can be both fulfilling and overwhelming. The organisation raises awareness of the psychological aspects of the climate crisis, aiming to foster emotional and mental well-being. Chloe guided us through a reflective practice where we shared what we love about the environment around us and why we aim to protect it. It was a grounding and inspiring way to start 2025, reminding us of the deep connection we all have to nature and our community.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for this wonderful evening—we look forward to seeing you at the next Green Drinks!
