Are you solutions oriented with experience in nature conservation in North Queensland? If so, this workshop is for you!

North Queensland has some of the best solar and wind resources in the country, and harnessing these will help us transition away from fossil fuels and play our part in combating the climate crisis.

Our region is also home to unique and irreplaceable natural and cultural values, and if we lose these, they're gone forever.

So, how do we balance the need for energy development with environmental protection?

First, we have to understand what regional values we are at risk of losing, and what threats they're facing. Then, we need to identify areas that should be protected from energy development if we are to protect these values.

In this workshop, we will work to identify restoration projects that could be supported through North Queensland's renewable energy transition.
