Our Month In Review
Member Event (General Meeting)
We started the month with a friendly little get-together for our members, where we outlined the work that's been going on "behind the scenes", along with our aims and priorities moving forward. This was accompanied by wood-fired pizza, drinks and great conversations. We would sincerely like to thank those who attended, and hope to see more and more of our membership at these gatherings in the future, as our members are our most valuable resource of all!Β
Early arrivals settle in to our backyard Members' Event earlier this month.
Postcard Art Exhibition
The opening of our Postcard Art Exhibition earlier this month drew quite a crowd! If you haven't seen our exhibition yet, please drop in to Umbrella Studio at 380 Flinders St, Townsville City and check it out (9-5 weekdays and 9-1 Sundays).
"Insights into the Environment" is a delightful little exhibition, thanks to the contributions of all of the artists who so generously donated their works and Marion Gaemers and David McMillan who assisted with the installation.
Art lovers relished the sights in "the Vault" at our Opening Night at Umbrella Studio.
Make sure you don't miss our Auction Night - Friday 21 June! All are welcome, and if you can't attend but would like to bid on your favourite piece/s please let us know and we can set up a proxy. We don't want anyone to miss out!
Eco Fiesta
This month has concluded with one of the most popular events of Townsville's calendar - Eco Fiesta! NQCC coordinated the Education Hub, where individuals working within a variety of environmental fields were invited to deliver short, informative presentations to a wide and receptive audience. NQCC would like to thank the Townsville City Council Events team for facilitating this, and all of the speakers who contributed to the program - it was such a fantastic day! If you have any thoughts or queries regarding the Education Hub, we welcome your feedback and invite you to contact us directly (simply reply to this email).
NQCC's Education Hub featured local environmental experts and advocates, and meeting Craig Reucassel from ABC's "War on Waste" was a special treat!

If you'd like to set up a proxy bidder, please email [email protected] to make arrangements. It's bound to be an exciting evening!
As you can see, there's a lot coming up for us and we need your support more than ever! While this month's federal election results were disappointing for the climate and environment, we believe the best remedy is to get involved with taking positive action. By becoming a member, volunteering or donating to NQCC, you are sending a strong message that there is much to do for the environment in North Queensland and you're willing to be a part of it.Β
For all that you do,
Yours in solidarity for a better future for our environment,
Β
