Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of NQCC.

We thrive on the energy, skills, and commitment of people who want to protect North Queensland’s environment through advocacy, planning, and community organising.

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities - from time-flexible involvement to longer-term roles - depending on what you’re looking for and how you’d like to contribute.

You'll hear about arising volunteer opportunities through our monthly Paperbark e-newsletter, but if you're looking for something more substantial or ongoing, check out our options below and complete the form to express your interest!

OUR CURRENT VOLUNTEER ROLES

Greening for Shade: contribute to a local campaign for a Council-led Greening Strategy! In-person volunteer meetings occur fortnightly on a Saturday at 2pm.

Renewables Done Right: assist our Coordinator with workshops, research and community events to support a just and nature-positive energy transition.

Protect Beautiful Queensland: get out in nature or in the community and talk to other nature-lovers about the need to protect more of the places we love! (Training provided)

Fundraising: support our staff and Management Committee to identify great funding opportunities or help deliver on our regular fundraising events (no prior experience required).

First Nations Partnerships: support NQCC to build and strengthen First Nations partnerships through events and other initiatives. In-person volunteer meetings occur monthly on a Friday at 4pm.

Admin: pop into our office (or work remotely) and help us keep our database and website running smoothly (No prior experience required).
