On Saturday 7th December 2024, NQCC held our famous annual Trivia Fundraiser. What a night!
Nine teams competed in the Belgian Gardens Senior Citizens Welfare Association hall for eternal glory.
It was a fantastic evening of fun, corruption and plenty of laughter thanks to very engaged participants and our incredible volunteers who keep the night running smoothly.
Thanks to our attendees, raffle ticket purchasers, volunteers, donors, and prize sponsors we raised almost $4000 (before expenses) for our environmental advocacy work here in beautiful North Queensland.
We have since gained seven new members and over thirty new sign ups to our newsletter. Thank you for joining our community!
Every year our volunteer team puts a great effort into hosting a splendid community event. Making sure that volunteers are well fed is the least that we can do.
Our NQCC coordinator had the important task to lead us through the night and deliver the very difficult questions.
Our amazing NQCC secretary Amaya was clearly happy with collecting bribes
on the night. What helped the teams to climb up the ladder to trivia victory,
is going straight towards our work for the environment.
The 'Suppositories of Wisdom' were the team to beat. They had won both in
2023 and 2022.
Besides trivia we had other fun games on the side. Here you see our NQCC
Vice President Chris (right) taking the win for guessing the exact amount of pistachios.
Thanks to very generous sponsors we had prizes with a total worth over $1000
to give away. Diana (right) was ecstatic about her $50 Gecko Interiors voucher.
Christmas was in the air. Julie (left) did not only win the Gallivanter Prize Pack,
her team 'The Quizaburras' ...
also won best team spirit on the night.
Bob won first prize on the raffle, a hamper from Ethical Brand containing
organic beauty products worth over $200.
The clearly not 'Clueless Crusaders' took the win after five very hard rounds. Or
maybe it was the bribes? With that the winning streak of
'The Suppositories of Wisdom' was finally broken.
Our NQCC Coordinator Crystal (left) and Community Campaigner (right)
smiling happily after a great night for our organisation.
