NQCC's biennial Postcard Art fundraiser is back! On show at Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts from early September, all postcard-sized artworks will be auctioned off at the end of the exhibition in mid-October, with all funds supporting our work here in North Queensland!
About the exhibition
Every two years, artists from North Queensland and all around the country (and overseas) support North Queensland Conservation Council by donating a small artwork to our exhibition. Using a postcard as a size guide, these artworks include paintings, sketches, photographs and prints, as well as small 3-dimensional artworks.
The exhibition is displayed at Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts in Townsville's CBD and also online for several weeks. Then, each artwork is auctioned off to the highest bidder, with all proceeds supporting the work of North Queensland Conservation Council.
This year's theme
"Nature: the wonder and the tragedy".
To be a nature-lover has come to mean living out a tragic love story. How do we balance the overwhelming wonderment of our natural world with the heartache of its immense suffering? Conservation is key. This exhibition supports the work of North Queensland Conservation Council.
