Happy Environment Day! Despite the crises our natural world is facing, its resilience and beauty is always worth celebrating. I hope you have found a way to do this today.
It's a jam-packed edition of Paperbark, because in typical North Queensland fashion, as the weather cools down, events heat up!
In the past few weeks, we've quizzed at Green Drinks, gathered with members at a General Meeting and mingled with locals at Ecofiesta! The month ahead is looking just as busy, so make sure to mark our events in your diary!

CLIMATE ACTION
Heat & Hazards: Ecofiesta
At Sunday's Ecofiesta, we asked locals about their experiences with extreme weather. We gained great insights, meaningful engagement and some excellent, eye-catching data to support our Heat & Hazards campaign - calling upon the State Government to fund appropriate climate adaptation measures and pushing for nature-based solutions. You can help by signing up to a Story Circle!
Story Circles
Help us to build a picture of the lived experience of climate change in North Queensland. If climate change has touched your life in some way while living in this region, we would love to hear your story!
We will be holding our first story circle on Sunday 16th June (2-4pm) at the NQCC office. RSVP here!
