It wouldn't be the start of the silly season without our Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser! This month we invited members and supporters to join us for a night of fun and frivolity, and what a night we had!

Nine teams joined us for Trivia this year, in the QCWA Hall in Townsville's CBD...

and You're a Quizard Harry!

NQCC Coordinator Crystal played the role of MC, teaming up with David as the Quizmaster for his third year running. The questions were varied and fun, with themes like: "Rivers", "Federal Politics 2016-21", "Human Space Travel" and "Natural Hazards". The bonus round which required competitors to match bird names to their calls was also quite a hoot! ;)

Many of the questions were quite challenging! Thankfully, Linda was available to help with the answers... in exchange for cash bribes, of course!

While head-scratching and corruption was taking place, Manuela and Andrea prepared beautiful and tasty vegan platters to keep all those brains well-nourished.

The whole night was planned and supervised by Tiff - NQCC's Community Engagement and Fundraising Assistant (left), while Zillah (right) ensured the bar was well tended.

It was a pretty tight game in the end, but the Suppository of Wisdom finished with the win! Their names will be etched onto NQCC's famous Trivia Championship board (once again), which hangs proudly in our office for all visitors to see!

Raffle ticket sales really took off throughout the evening, and were in the good hands of Tash and NQCC President Chris. This was drawn at the end of the night, with three lucky winners walking away with amazing prize packages!

The first prize winner of the Mega Raffle was Manuela - our hardworking volunteer! The first prize package included gifts donated by Josephine Carter Photography, Billabong Sanctuary, Mamu Tropical Skywalk, Paronella Park, Wild Rice Laos and Thai Cuisine, the Hopiti Café and Little Ray of Bright!

Our second prize winner was Ines, who won a package with prizes donated by N. Hughes Photography, The Eco Wardrobe, The Float House Townsville, Gecko Interiors, Baker D North and Gypseas Café!

Kinga was the lucky winner of the third prize package, which included prizes donated by Lucy Holland Naturopath, Sweetleaf Gardening, Mary Who Bookshop, MK Veggie Kitchen, Sweet Freedom Bakehouse and the Huni Pot Café! 

Thank you so much to our prize donors, raffle supporters, trivia teams and volunteers! We really love bringing great people together and putting on a fun night, while raising a bit of cash for our important conservation work here in beautiful North Queensland!
